Project Description

 

Our client is currently delivering a complex infrastructure development focused on the construction of a water intake system in a large aquatic environment, supporting essential industrial operations.

 

The scope of the project includes:

  • Excavation of a long underground tunnel using a pressurized slurry TBM with a large diameter;
  • Construction of two access shafts, located onshore and offshore;
  • Installation of a prefabricated offshore intake structure positioned on the lakebed.

 

Role & Responsibilities

As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you will actively support the implementation and enforcement of health and safety programs across the project, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal standards, and site-specific procedures.

 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, maintaining, and rolling out H&S documentation such as procedures, orientations, checklists, and forms;
  • Supporting day-to-day site activities by promoting safe work practices and assisting subcontractors in meeting safety requirements;
  • Planning, conducting, and following up on site safety inspections and audits;
  • Managing the preparation and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE);
  • Coordinating QHSE onboarding and induction sessions for new employees and subcontractors;
  • Working closely with internal teams to ensure effective deployment of safety initiatives;
  • Supporting incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking;
  • Participating in emergency response planning and ensuring readiness of emergency procedures.

Le profil

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety & Environment, Risk Management, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering;
  • At least 5 years of experience in Health & Safety roles on large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects;
  • Hands-on experience in underground construction or tunneling, ideally involving TBM operations;
  • Previous exposure to high-risk work environments (industrial, offshore, energy, heavy civil, etc.);
  • Familiarity with safety management systems and incident management tools;
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
